Dream – 8/5/09

I was part of a school trip, with my teacher Mr. B. We went to this place, and it was very far away from home. Everything seemed strange, and things just did not feel right. I kept getting lost and was not able to find things.

Then I was in this room with a lot of people, including my friends Ethan and Katie. I went in to a room to lie down, then Katie came in for a second and then left, although I wanted her to come back.

Now the insane part! I was in an airport, yet I did not have a ticket or anything else. I only had some change, and I was going through a one-man security, he said I had to give him the change, so I did. Then he asked what I was doing there, and I said the airport was a safe place to escape the people who were after me, and he said I’d have to go but I said I had to say. Then I just looked at him in the eye and screamed “KATSU” (I don’t know what that even means), and he stopped, so I kept on going.

Then a huge gunfight exploded in the airport, and people were telling me about how hundreds of people were trying to take on this one guy. I thought how if he was fighting so many people, he must be a master of the Gun Katas (which is a kung-fu gun fighting style used in many movies and elaborated upon in the movie Equilibrium). Then, I’m not sure whether I became the guy or was still separate, but I was running on a high-up balcony, and all these black guys were coming at me. I was taking them down one by one, and I’m certain it was with my hands, but then I can’t remember whether I was using a gun or not.

Note: The airport part of the dream was really crazy and I’d say fun, but the other part felt weird. Also, I just read what “Katsu” means, and it has multiple meanings. The first is to “realize it”, or break free from delusions. The second is break or destroy. And the third is that the word is just an exclamatory remark, like “Yeah!”. I think the first one makes more sense in the context of my dream.
